A sailboat or sailing-boat is a boat propelled partly or entirely by sails. The term covers a variety of boats, vessels such as sailboards and smaller than sailing ships, and what constitutes a sailing ship, sailboat, or a smaller vessel like a sailboard varies. Sailboats may be: monohull, catamaran, trimaran, full, fin, wing, centerboard , purpose sport racing cruising, ... Sailing is the art of controlling a sailing vessel. By adjusting the rigging, rudder and dagger or centre board, a sailor manages the force of the wind on the sails (main and/or jib) in order to change the direction and speed of a boat. Mastery of the skill requires experience in varying wind and sea conditions, as well as knowledge concerning sailboats. Today most people enjoy sailing as a recreational activity.
