Charter references

This is a welcome list of recommendations that we, the crew, want to share with you with the only purpose of making the best of our trip and time together.

It is possible that you already have some navigation experience. If that is the case we just hope you agree with us.

If you do not have much prior navigation experience we strongly suggest you take a few minutes to read and understand what we are trying to communicate.

This is not a list of rules or laws but a list of recommendations and suggestions to make this experience as good as possible for all of us and maybe one you will always remember.

We at Yasanti will do our best to meet this goal but we also know that you are a very important part of it.

If you have any doubts do not hesitate and please contact any of the crew members.

SECURITY

Security on board depends on many factors, being very important the behaviour of everybody on board for everybody’s safety:

  • The Captain is the maximum authority on board and he has freedom to take any decision he considers necessary and we all must obey without hesitation to avoid unnecessary danger and be protected at all times.
  • Depending on weather conditions the route can change or even be cancelled by the Captain on any given moment. He can decide to stay in the harbour without going out to sea.
  • During navigation it is recommended to hold with one hand onto a safe element of the boat and avoid any unnecessary walks around the boat.
  • Yasanti includes all the necessary equipment to be used whenever necessary: life-jackets, harness, life saving rings, life saving rafts, flares, selective digital radio equipment, GPS, radar, etc.
  • It is important to lock any objects anywhere in the boat so they don’t fall and break, especially glass objects.
  • It is especially forbidden to smoke inside the boat and allowed on deck.
  • Do not throw anything to the sea. Cigarettes, papers, plastics, cans, etc.
  • Silverware, glasses, dishes that you use must be cleaned and placed in its original place right after use.
  • All passengers must carry identification documents (I.D. or passport).
  • Any invitation of third party members must be advised to the Captain to verify maximum capacity on board due to security measures.

BOAT CARE

  • The use of footwear is not recommended inside. We recommend going barefooted.
  • It is forbidden to walk inside the boat when wet.
  • For safety and security NEVER THROW PAPER OF ANY KIND OR ANY MATERIALS INSIDE THE TOILETS. There are garbage cans for that use in every bathroom. NOTE: The incompliance to this norm can cause very important obstruction problems to the system. In that case responsibilities will be demanded with whoever complies.
  • Any items on board have its right place. Keep them where you found them.
  • After returning from the beach, always use the fresh water shower at the “Royal Stairs” to avoid sand on board.
  • Beach towels should stay on deck next to our footwear.

COEXISTENCE

  • We know it’s not necessary to say anything in must cases but we do not want to hesitate to encourage you to remember that good manners and respect are absolutely necessary on board due to the limited living area on a boat. Please treat everybody on board with the maximum respect and manners.
  • Order in commune areas is up to all of us. That is why we strongly demand you to keep your personal items like towels, t-shirts, shoes, books, mobile phones, etc. in good order or inside your staterooms when not in use.
  • Respect the rest hours avoiding noise, screaming, music, TV, etc. We could all establish a mandatory rest schedule like between 12 pm and 9 am.
  • Respect “the moment” of everyone else. On a boat there is a lot of moments to share activities, laughs, conversations… but at the same time a good amount of moments you might wish to be on your own, with your own space and with your own thoughts, maybe just looking at the sunset or just thinking. They can be the best moments on board. Please respect them.

SEA SICKNESS

This can be the must important factor to have a very good experience or a terrible one. You have to keep in mind that this is a very normal state and at the same time it’s been proven to be originated on a state of mind.

There is a few point to take into account to avoid it, but we strongly believe that must of it comes from mind control, or better the lack of it! What we mean is that the boat moves and naturally our heads tend to compensate this movement doing the opposite. That’s what makes you sick!

Let yourself flow with the boat, dance with it and feel part of it as much as you can.

WE RECOMMEND:

  • Around one hour prior navigation take one “Biodramina” (Sea sickness medicine). This medication causes drowsiness so if you prefer we also have them with caffeine.
  • Try to keep solid foods in your stomach.
  • Do not drink too much fluid.
  • If you start to feel sick: go get some air, take deep breaths and try to get distracted and think of something else.
  • Sea sickness has a chain reaction that easily transmits from one person to another. Try to avoid comments about it.
  • Feel the movement of the boat as something pleasant, let yourself “go with it” and try to enjoy it. It’s your choice.
  • If you can not avoid vomit stay away from the group to avoid affecting other people and try to relax.
  • And of course remember that you can always count on our crew to help you.

CREW

  • The crew at GOLETA YASANTI is formed by the Captain and two or three sailors (depending on group size).
  • Sailors have their own staterooms completely separated in the prow and the Captain has his own stateroom at stern.
  • Our crew mission is to make your sailing experience as enjoyable as possible and take care of all the navigation duties and control of the boat.
  • They also do a daily check up on staterooms to empty garbage cans and some light cleaning duties.
  • In case you contract it they will take care of cooking, serve and wash all the cooking utensils and clean the kitchen.

MEALS

We have two possibilities:

Half Board includes: - Breakfast with fruit juices, coffee, teas, milk, bread, butter, honey, marmalades, cereals, cold cuts and cheeses. - Lunch or dinner, depending on every day we will serve: salad buffet, pasta, rice, chicken, beef, paella, BBQ, fish, desert and fruits. Your choice of one soda, beer, house wine or water and to finish coffee or tea.

Mutual Fund or Kitty is: - Everybody helps with work and money on supermarket trips, cooking, cleaning, washing, serving and all the duties related to eating. - We make a fund or kitty where every body cheeps in with the same amount to share costs.

On all cases there is a common fund (or kitty) for harbour expenses and carburant.
